A year ago, we took a leap of faith and bought an old house in a quaint village on the island of Mallorca. When we first stepped inside, the house was completely filled with the previous owner’s belongings—everything left behind as if frozen in time. It was a little overwhelming, to say the least, but we saw the potential in the space, and with that vision, we set out to begin the transformation.
Over the past year, we’ve been sifting through piles of items, sorting what to keep, donate, or discard, while also working hard on renovations to breathe new life into the house. It’s been a long and challenging journey, but every step has been worth it. We’ve dedicated ourselves to creating a home that suits our tastes, while maintaining the charm of the old structure.
From updating the old fixtures to painting the walls and stripping back layers of history, the process has been a labor of love. Each room has been thoughtfully renovated, with attention to detail, blending modern comforts with the rustic beauty of the house. The journey hasn’t been easy, and there have been many moments of exhaustion, but seeing the progress unfold has been incredibly rewarding.
As we reach the one-year mark, we wanted to share a few photos of the current state of the house. It’s still a work in progress, but it’s starting to feel like home. The transformation is far from complete, but we’re so proud of how much we’ve accomplished. We’re excited for what the future holds and can’t wait to continue our journey in this beautiful Mallorca village. This house has already given us so many memories, and there’s so much more to come.
