My husband is truly one of a kind. At 72 years old, he continues to impress me with his dedication, skill, and the love he pours into everything he creates. Every year, he takes on a new project, and each one is a testament to his unwavering commitment and creativity. Our most recent endeavor, which we proudly call our “2020 project,” is no exception.
This particular project was a labor of love, and my husband did everything himself—except for lifting the massive beams. The four giant beams, weighing an incredible 450 pounds each and towering 8 feet high, were too heavy for one person to manage. It took the strength of five grown men to hoist those into place, but once they were up, the rest was all him.
What really stands out to me is the meticulous attention he gave to every detail. He even did all the rock work himself, something that many would have outsourced, but not him. Watching him work so tirelessly, year after year, always amazes me. He takes so much pride in his creations, and the results are always better than I could have imagined.
This “2020 project” is a perfect reflection of who he is—determined, skilled, and incredibly self-sufficient. It’s not just about building something physical; it’s about the love, effort, and pride he invests in making our home more beautiful with each passing year.
At 72, my husband continues to show that age is just a number. His energy and passion for building never cease to inspire me. I feel incredibly lucky to have him as my partner in life, and I can’t wait to see what he tackles next!
