Embracing Off-Grid Life in British Columbia: A Journey of Adventure and Growth

My journey into off-grid living began in beautiful British Columbia, Canada, where I’ve created a cozy little retreat for me, my boyfriend, and our dogs. We live in an RV with an added mudroom and a sun deck, which took more than a year to complete. It’s been a big change for us, especially since we come from Mexico, where we’re not used to camping life. But despite the challenges, we’re making it work and learning along the way.

The winters here can be harsh, and the cold is definitely something we’ve had to adjust to. Even though we’re managing, there are times when the chill gets to us, and we long for the warmth and comfort of city living. There are days when I absolutely love the peacefulness and simplicity of this off-grid lifestyle, surrounded by nature, and I’m grateful for the beauty of the mountains and forest that are our neighbors. But then, there are other days when I miss the noise and energy of the city.

Living here has definitely been an adventure, full of ups and downs. We’ve had to learn new skills, from managing our own water supply to dealing with the unpredictable weather. Some days are easier than others, and it’s definitely a far cry from the city life we were used to. However, this experience has also been incredibly rewarding. The quiet moments by the campfire, the starry nights, and the sense of peace that comes with being so connected to nature make all the challenges worthwhile.

For now, we take it day by day, embracing the adventure with open hearts. Send us good vibes as we continue to navigate this new chapter in our lives! 🌙
